Mile High Magic Come From Behind Twice to Win Larkspur Summer 2020 Championship.
The Mile High Magic had to come from behind in both the semifinal matchup and the championship game to take the summer league title.
Earlier in the day, against the Slammers Avalanche the Magic found themselves in an 11-0 hole. Their answer to that was to put up 12 runs in the second inning. The game was nip and tuck after that with the teams trading runs and entering the fifth inning tied at 14 runs apiece. The Magic were able to push one run across in the fifth inning to take the game.
In the championship game, the Colorado Rebels offense was led by Tommy F and Gunnar T. Gunnar got going early in the game smashing a home run in the first inning followed by another in the third. Tommy F also added a home run in the third inning as the Rebels appeared to be pulling away in the game.
So the Magic again found themselves down late in the game for the second time in bracket play. They put two up in the third to draw closer and then took the lead in the fifth when Brigham singled to center field on a 1-2 count, scoring one run. The magic added three more runs in the inning to close the door on the championship.
Hayden Riedel got the start for Mile High Magic 13u. He surrendered four runs on three hits over three innings, striking out one and walking one.
