Front Range Baseball Academy

The Winter training portion of our program will begin shortly after the Fall wraps up at the end of October.

Each of our teams players will be split into two primary focus groups.  These will consist of Pitchers and Positional Players.  Assignment to one of these groups  has been made based on what our coaching staff believes is the most significant development need for the player.  There will be some crossover between the groups.

We are particularly excited to continue to expand the relationship we have with Cole Thomas and Fast performance.  This will be the first time we get to integrate with them for full off season pitching development.  Individual Player and Full team progress has been evident in the performance of the players and the team overall.  The pitching program is not a separate cost for the Winter Training program.  It is covered by the program fees.

The Pitching focused group will:
  • Work out directly with Cole Thomas and Drake Biggins.
  • Workouts will be Tuesday (afternoon/evening), Thursday (individual work that can be completed at the facility or at home), and Saturday (afternoon).
  • The focus of these workouts will include:
    • Supervised weighted ball training.
    • Strength and conditioning specifically oriented toward developing velocity and durability.
    • Flat Ground Work
    • Long Toss
    • Mound work with an emphasis on Mechanics and Connectedness.
The Positional Player Group will:
  • Work out directly with Coach Drake, Coach Benson, Coach Stidham, and Coach Knight.
  • Workouts will be held on M/W/F in the afternoons/evenings.
  • The focus of these workouts will include:
    • Strength and Conditioning activities designed to help the players begin to add mass.
    • Our Standard hitting sessions.
    • An open invitation to join any of the special groups that we run focused on Mobility, Speed, or Glove Work.  (Approval from Drake is required.)
There are several players that may crossover between the groups.  These will include pitchers that also play positions and want to stay connected to their swing mechanics or positional players that pitch on occasion and need to stay connected to their throwing mechanics.  The coaching staff of each team will work with each player to make sure they understand their group and crossover assignments.

We also want all of our players to swing wooden bats this Winter and Early Spring.  We are including a custom wooden bat for each player in the program fees. The demo models and the bat manufacturer will be at a team practice soon. Players will be able to select the customization that they want and the bats will be made for them. The models and order forms will be on hand for about a week or so in case any of our players miss this Wednesday evening practice.

Organized workouts will end at the beginning of January and the players will have continued access to the facility on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, as well as select times on Saturday/Sunday to come in and hit.  January's workload will be intentionally lighter so that all of our players can acclimate to their High School Winter programs.  We will then start our Summer 2024 organized workouts in February and get back to the business of building our players skills.

Cost for the program is $1100 for 17U and 18U.  The 16U player fess is $1000.  These fees include everything outlined above.  It will run the entire months of November and December.  It will ramp down in early January but facility access for the players will continue to be provided for hitting and individual work until we begin our 2024 Spring/Summer Program.
